I'm Pete. I've grown up all over the place. Having lived in Texas, Ohio, Connecticut, California, and Arizona, the one thing I've learned in 28 years is that I
don't know nearly enough stuff. I do know I've taken a liking to music and technology, Hondas last forever, love's worth everything, and if you made a new friend today, it
was a good day.
Legend has it (and by that I mean there's a 25% I'm completely making this up) that I would hum the Batman theme nonstop as a toddler. We're talking the Danny Elfman version - a far cry from the "nana-nana-nana-nana BATMAN!!!" of the 60s series, but more charming than the brooding and ominous Hans Zimmer/James Newton Howard collaboration. I hummed it everywhere, and it was probably the most annoying and off-pitch thing in the world. But in my head it all made sense.
In fact, I love film scores so much that I often cared only about the music's narrative, as opposed to actors and actresses following a plot. Try it yourself - watch any of the Back To The Futures, Total Recall, or Batman on mute. They're now bad movies. True story.
Fast forward to my early 20s and I'm armed with acoustic guitar on a mission to emulate my heroes of the day, John Mayer and Howie Day. The guitar led me to wonderful people
in awesome cities all around America. I had the good fortune of meeting a band called (at the time) Thomas' Apartment, and played for 5 years alongside them on big stages in
amazing cities
for huge
audiences I'd only known in my dreams. I had yet another good fortune to meet a guy named Stephane Gauger, one of the greatest international filmmakers alive today. And from
there I'd suddenly realized a childhood dream of scoring films.
Time flies when you're having a blast. I'm 28 and the adventures are still being written. My new solo EP drops this spring and I'd be honored if I can share it with you.
Yes, you.
